Talk To Me - Work Out Music
So what do you listen to when you work out? I am trying to come up with a fun mixed CD (you know since I still don't have nor do I want an iPod). So I thought I would ask what music motivates you when you work out? Certain type of music or certain songs?
I hate focusing on the time when I workout, that is why I like working out to music. So here is a tip.
TIP: When working out start with a certain number of songs. Say 5 songs and that is how long you work out for. Then each week add another song or two. This will help you so you work out longer and longer each week but you are not so focused on the time!

Here are some I like:
ReplyDeleteAFI: Miss Murder
Beck: Timebomb
Chris Brown: Run It
Fall Out Boy: 7 Minutes in Heaven
Maroon 5: Little of Your Time
Mary J Blige: Just Fine
Nelly: Eertime
Phoenix: Lisztomania
Paramore: Ignorance
Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Heads Will Roll
The Ting Tings: That's Not My Name
Also check out Linkin Park & Jay-Z's collaboration album "Collision Course". I also have most of that Maroon 5 album on my workout mix- "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" and Fall Out Boy's "From Under the Cork Tree".
Looking forward to others' suggestions! I love adding new stuff to the mix!
My biggest challenge is taking my eyes OFF the elliptical to see how much time I have left. :) So I nixed the music (although it's great in its own right) in favor of TV. We have a DVR and smallish TV in our basement, along with DVD player if I felt like watching movies.
ReplyDeleteThe best, right now: I've been watching episodes of The Biggest Loser! Talk about motivation. I actually have Jillian screaming at me (well, in my head, at least), and it's so inspiring to see how hard they're working.
If I had to do music vs. TV/movies, I would probably say Korn, Beastie Boys, Rob Zombie, etc. They are nowhere NEAR what I normally listen to, but they are great workout songs. Very driving.
